Rupnagar (Punjab): Alleging that BSP supremo Mayawati was responsible for the death of BSP founder Kanshi Ram, his family members demanded a CBI probe on Friday.
Talking to mediapersons, Kanshi Ram's brothers Dalbara Singh and Harbans Singh and sister Swaran Kaur alleged his death was not natural. It was a murder, they alleged and demanded registration of a murder case in this regard.
They also alleged that the Centre was hand in glove with Mayawati. The family members said they would gather at Privartan Chowk in Lucknow along with a large number of Kanshi Ram's followers on October 14 to start a nation-wide movement against Mayawati.
The family would also embrace Buddhism on the same day to fulfil wishes of the BSP founder, they said. The family members said Kanshi Ram had announced on March 15, 2003 that he along with five crore people would adopt Buddhism on October 14, 2006. This was perhaps due to the influence of Dr B R Ambedkar on him, who had embraced Buddhism fifty-years ago on October 14.
