Kids crush law under the wheels
Kids crush law under the wheels
The roads are turning deadlier with underaged drivers racing their cars and breaking all the driving rules.

New Delhi: The biggest surprise in today’s world is that the children are breaking the law with the full knowledge of their parents, who have provided them with the money, the cars and most of all the freedom.

Boy: It's just a rush. There's an empty road so there is a rush to test your car to the limit till it just breaks because it's a machine so you have to test it.

Boy: You have to test your adrenaline rush.

They are the kids who learnt the ABC of accelerator, break and clutch years ago.

The first boy admits that he learnt driving when he was in the ninth standard while the second one says that he was in eighth.

So you are cool if you started early and you are even cooler if you have driven the coolest cars on the road.

First boy: I have driven my own Zen, Maruti Esteem, Indica, Innova, Alto, Octavia and Honda City

But its not just good enough to have driven them and the late night ritual is really all about speed.

First boy: Done 155 kmph in Indica on Nelson Mandela Road sometimes 180 kmph also.

Second boy: Between 140-150 kmph.

The thrill is in the risk, in the rush and they are in it just for that and the consequences can be ugly but that doesn't slow them down.

First boy: I was drunk and I was driving and a man came nearby so I stopped and my heartbeat also stopped.

These school kids actually flirt with death twice a month and one is left asking, "Why do they do it?"

Boy: You cannot define that feeling until you feel it. It’s something different, out of this world.

As the gadgets and goodies that kids play with today, get bigger, brasher and deadlier, they are ready to push the limits.

And sadly, those in charge are just not looking.

What's your reaction?
