Clash erupted between two groups of advocates here on Sunday when one group decided to call off an on-going strike and resume work in the courts.

Advocates associated with the Rajasthan High Court Lawyers Association had announced to call of the on-going strike and had decided to resume work from on Monday.

"But when they reached the court today, the advocates associated with the Rajasthan High Court Advocates Association assembled in the corridor of the court in large number and resisted their decision to resume the work," chairman of Rajasthan Bar Council Manoj Garg said.

"They stopped them from going into the court, shouted slogans against them and pushed them out of the court," he said.

"Following this resistance, the lawyers' association reverted its decision and rejoined the striking advocates of advocates association," said an advocate.

The lawyers of the Principal Seat of the Rajasthan High Court at Jodhpur are on strike in support of their Jaipur counterparts, who have been demanding transfer of two judicial officers ADJ Mahendra Choudhary and DJ Deepak Maheshwari from Jaipur.
