BANGALORE: The Eighth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) on Thursday summoned Forest Minister C P Yogeshwar and four of his family members over cases relating to alleged irregularities to the tune of `60 crore in the controversytainted Mega City Project.ACMM Judge Kiran Kini observed that there was prima facie evidence to initiate investigation against Yogeshwar and issued notices to the minister, his wife Manju Kumari, brother Gangadeshwara, Mahadevaiah and R Ramesh.Based on reports of Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs, an advocate Puttasiddaiah had lodged 14 cases against Yogeshwar of which eight were under Companies Act and the rest under sections 420, 404, 405, 465, 466, 468, 120 and 120(B) of the IPC.Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) of the Corporate Affairs Ministry after investigating into complaints from investors of Mega City Project, had stated that Yogeshwar had “misappropiated” `60 crore along with MD of Megacity (Bangalore) Developers and Builders Limited (MDBL).In its report on April, 2009, it had confirmed the illegalities.It must be remembered that when news of the fraud spread, investors demanded money back.
