Low-intensity bomb blast in Noida, two injured
The blast took place at about 1315 hrs IST on Friday in a garbage dump.

Noida: Two children has been injured in a low-intensity blast in a garbage dump in Noida's Sector 12. The blast took place at about 1315 hrs IST on Friday.

The blast went off at a garbage dump at the intersection of Sectors 12 and 22. The injured have been taken to the Noida District Hospital.

A forensic team has reached the blast spot. The police have cordoned off the area and are reviewing the security situation. They have, however, ruled out any terrorist act.

"The explosion is minor and it is not a terrorist act. Two children have been injured," Senior Superintendent of Police, Noida, RK Chaturvedi.

Earlier, a country-made bomb exploded in a Lucknow court toilet.

The bomb exploded in the court of Additional District Judge around 1130 hrs IST. No one was injured in the explosion.

Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, Brij Lal, however, downplayed the blast and said it was just a mischievous act.

”It seems a cracker was thrown by someone,” he said.
