NUSTULAPUR (Karimnagar dist): Unlike other youths who have been seeking employment, Chandrasekhar Reddy, an MBA graduate, is running a dairy farm of his own in his native Nustulapur village in Timmapur mandal, about 3 km away from Rajeev Rahadari. The 24-year-old youngster, who completed his MBA just a year ago, has even employed two persons in his dairy which produces about 150 litres of milk per day. Presently, there are 25 cows, 4 buffaloes and 30 calves in his farm spread in 1,815 sq yards. The two varieties of cows in his farm -- imported hybrid jersey and HF -- are known for their high milk production.Reddy completed his B.Sc in Bio-technology in 2006 and launched his dairy farm then itself with one cow producing 12 litres of milk per day.He pursued his post graduation even while taking care of animals in his farm.“Now, I am earning a profit of `40,000 per month,” he said gleefully, adding that he sells all the milk from his farm to the Karimnagar Cooperative Dairy.Initially, when the number of buffaloes was below 10, he used to milk them by hand.“In 2009, I began using milking machine as the number of animals grew to 12,” he recalled. His friends, who did not secure a job so far even after completion of MBA, frequent his farm, as part of their efforts to set up their own dairy units. When this correspondent went to the dairy farm, Reddy himself was found cleaning the animals.“I never thought I would be having a dairy farm of my own.I launched it taking inspiration from my cousin,” he revealed. He suggested that youngsters stop worrying about employment opportunities and think of self-employment.
