BANGALORE: Even during the tenure of former Karnataka chief minister S M Krishna a lot of illegal mining took place, alleged S R Hiremath of National Committee for Protection of Natural Resources.Addressing press persons here on Saturday he said, “Licences were illegally given to Deccan Mining Syndicates during S M Krishna’s tenure. Krishna had allegedly given permission to mining firm illegally to encroach upon 200 acre of forest land.”Alleging that S M Krishna has thrown all the rules in the air for favouring Deccan firm he said, “The Centre’s permission is needed while granting permission to mining and to change the blue map. But Krishna has not followed any such norm.”“Relating to illegal mining case, Prashanth Bhushan already tabled his arguments in the SC,” he added.
