MLA seeks answers on aid for CENATC students

PUDUCHERRY: Congress MLA and former Education Minister K Lakshminarayanan on Monday questioned the government on non-disbursement of educational assistance to CENATC sponsored students under Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Financial assistance scheme. Speaking on the debate on the motion of thanks to Lieutenant Governor’s address, he said that for two years students had not been getting the assistance.Citing an example of a cart pusher who has admitted his daughter in a medical college, he said that without the benefits of the scheme it was difficult for him to pay the fee and added that self financing colleges after giving a grace time for the fees weresending the students out.
