Chennai tasted their second defeat today in four outings, having lost to Sher-E-Punjab last night. They had won against Chandigarh Comets and Delhi Wizards.
After the bitter disappointment of a heavy defeat agaisnt Chandigarh Comets (2-5) last weekend, Mumbai got their moorings in a slow-paced match to score a confident win at the M Radhakrishnan stadium under lights.
In the first two quarters, Cheetahs were holding the sway and their goalkeeper Jasbir Singh was at his best. In fact, Cheetahs went in to the lead through Pakistan international Syed Imran Warsi following their first penalty corner.
After the equaliser in the 12th minute through Valmiki, Mumbai raised the intensity of their game and kept invading the rival citadel.
