Stating that the allegations of Telugu film distributor Natty Kumar over the Telugu audio rights of the Dhanush starrer '3' are false, producer and Dhanush's father Kasthoori Raja has said that the latter is just making more mistakes to cover up his faults.
Natty Kumar, who had earlier said that he had faced huge losses because the film didn't do well in the box office, has filed a case with the Hyderabad police against Dhanush, the hero of the film and director Aishwarya. The case has been filed on the grounds that the audio rights of the movie had been sold to two parties - to his NK Theatres (P) Ltd and Sony, as well.
Reacting to this, Kasthoori Raja said that Natty Kumar was well aware of the fact that Sony had bought the audio rights of the movie in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, adding that it was in fact the distributor who had organized the audio launch in Hyderabad.
"Why didn't he question Sony for releasing audio without his permission?" asked Kasthoori Raja. He also said that in a letter of understanding dated March 17 signed between RK Productions and NK Theaters, it has clearly been mentioned that only ‘dubbing or remake’ rights have been given to Natty Kumar. Kasthoori Raja added that Natty Kumar has changed the clause as 'dubbing and remake' in an "illegible" draft of the detailed agreement dated March 21 before getting it signed it from him. "Only in the 'so called' detailed agreement, Natty Kumar had mentioned that NK Theatres also owns the audio rights of the movie, while the audio was already released by Sony," says Kasthoori Raja.
While the satellite rights of the movie was not supposed to be sold until all dues that amount to Rs 4 crore and 35 lakhs are settled as per the agreement, Kasthoori Raja says about Rs 2 crore and 35 lakhs is due from Natty Kumar, but the satellite rights have already been sold to two companies. The producer added that he is planning to sue Natty Kumar for defamation.
Kasthoori Raja also said that only his own RK Productions has produced the movie and Dhanush, Aishwarya and Shruti have no connection with the business of the movie.
