BARGARH : The Chief Minister’s speech in Bargarh was more or less the same as in his previous campaigns for the panchayat poll. Naveen Patnaik, on Friday, addressed huge gatherings at Kanbar village under Barpali block in Bargarh Assembly segment and Haldipali under Sohela block in Bhatli Assembly segment. Repeating his famous ‘Kumbhira Kandana’ quote, he lashed out at the opposition for doing nothing for the State and tried to project the BJD as the messiah of the poor and Odisha. Naveen elaborated on the welfare schemes launched by the State Government and laid thrust on connectivity and women emancipation. Naveen also called upon the gathering to vote for the BJD to bring about development in rural pockets. Parroting the same text and same lines unmindful of the implications, Naveen reiterated the commitment of his Government in development of the State. While the crowd was not impressive at Kanbar village, women outnumbered men in the strong audience at Haldipali. Among others, Bargarh district president, Prabhaditya Mishra, former Bargarh MLA Ananda Acharya, MLAs Sushanta Singh and Bijay Ranjan Singh Bariha also spoke.
