The noose is tightening around Sanjay Roy, the accused in the RG Kar Hospital rape and murder case, after CCTV footage, his “confession”, and scientific evidence established his presence near the 31-year-old victim a day before the crime. Sources told CNN-News18 that Roy, during his interrogation by Kolkata Police, confessed that he had observed the victim at the chest medicine ward on August 8, a day before the crime. CCTV footage of the ward also corroborates that Roy — a 33-year-old civic volunteer who had easy access to the hospital — was in the ward at around 11am — the same time when the victim and four other junior doctors were present in the ward.
