No change in KPCC leadership, says Union Minister Moily

The BJP’s opposition to recent reforms, including allowing FDI in the retail sector is the reflection of financial illiteracy, said Union Minister for Energy and Corporate Affairs M Veerappa Moily on Sunday.

Moily said that the reforms were not introduced keeping the elections in mind. “This is part of UPA’s policy. Cap on subsidised LPG and allowing FDI in retail sector have been introduced to boost the country’s economy. Opposition parties suffer from a lack of financial literacy,” he added.

On how long the BJP will continue in power in the state, Moily said there is anarchy in the state administration.

“Even after Sadananda Gowda and Shettar took charge as chief ministers, corrupt ministers continued in power. The BJP failed to prove that after ousting Yedyurappa, it has become a reformed party,” he added.

On change in the KPCC leadership, Moily said that the Congress follows secular principles and there is no question of selecting a leader on caste lines.

He  said the Centre may set up a separate board for Areca Development on the lines of Coffee Development Board.
