BANGALORE: Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda on Sunday declined to comment on the announcement made by his son H D Kumaraswamy to go on indefnite hunger strike if Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa fails to order an inquiry into the charges of amassing wealth by corrupt means. “I have nothing to say on this issue,” Gowda said, when his views were sought on the issue of his son going on indefnite hunger strike. “He (Kumaraswamy) has announced it. That’s all. I will not react,” the former prime minister said. He refused to take any question on the matter. Gowda said Yeddyurappa has agreed to meet a farmers’ delegation on July 8 on the issue of giving additional land to NICE project. “While my meeting with the chief minister will be at 11 am on July 8, Yeddyurappa will meet farmers in the afternoon,” he said. He also said that the PM must come out within the abmit of Lokpal. “Dr Manmohan Singh’s integrity is not at all doubted. But who knows what is in store for future,” he said.
