Not Just NEET, There’s A Mess In Maharashtra-CET Too, Alleges Aaditya Thackeray

Amid the chaos over NEET paper leak, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Aaditya Thackeray has alleged different papers were given to 24 batches in the recently held CET in Maharashtra.

“The exams have become a point of contention. The MH-CET cell administered different papers to 24 batches, each with its own set of questions. It’s been a mess. No one seemed to clarify the curriculum before hand. And if you wanted to challenge a question, it cost you a thousand rupees. With 1,425 objections filed, the CET cell has made quite a bit of money from this mess they created,” said Thackeray.

“The unrest over such critical exams isn’t just local; it’s spreading across the country. Reports of leaked papers and suspicions of corruption in NEET exams are already circulating. Similar controversies have erupted around Maharashtra’s CET, raising questions about who’s benefiting from these exams, students or someone else,” asked Thackeray.

There are 232 unique objection IDs, but despite all this, the CET cell and those who set the papers claim they didn’t make any mistakes. However, students have identified 54 errors in the papers. “Ironically, those running the show haven’t been subjected to the same scrutiny they put their students through,” said Thackeray.

Thackeray said that while students don’t want to take a re-examination, they have the right to know their marks, instead of percentile. “If the minister concerned has any interest in this issue, he should clarify to all those students who had appeared for this exam. We have no hopes from this government. Post October, when we establish our government in the state, we will abolish this pattern of exam and instead of different papers for different batches, will keep only one paper for all students appearing for this exam,” he said.

Thackeray and a delegation of Shiv Sena UBT leaders are likely to meet the Governor of Maharashtra soon to “seek justice” for MH-CET students.
