New Delhi: If you are tired of explaining to voice-based search apps what you are searching for, then here is a solution for you. A new human-powered search solution - Ooloo - has made its way to both Google Play Store and Apple's App Store. Unlike popular virtual assistants like Siri and Google Now, this assistant relies on humans to understand what a user is looking for.
Ooloo (meaning owl in Hindi, the nocturnal bird that symbolises the wise in the west but has an opposite connotation in Indian culture) is a voice-based search application. To use it, the user needs to tap the microphone icon on the mobile app, record his question, and tap 'Post'. He/she will then receive an "appropriate written answer" from a team of responders, staffed 24X7. The user will receive a notification when there is a new answer.
The response to the questions posted will be in text format, and may include links and images. Users can ask for any clarification if they need to; however, they will be treated as new questions without any link to the previous responses they received.
You can also rate answers with 'Awesome', 'Good' or 'Meh'.
Anroid users can download the app from here. iOS user can go here to download the app.
