The PML-Q Chief spoke about his disagreement in an interview to a British newspaper.

New Delhi: Pakistan’s ruling party, the Pakistan Muslim League (Qaid-e-Azam) PML-Q, is distancing itself away from the President’s policies.

In an interview to a British newspaper The Daily Telegraph, the PML-Q Chief Shujaat Hussain said that he disagreed with a series of major decisions taken by Musharraf’s government over the past five years. However, he did not criticise Musharraf directly.

Analysts see Hussain’s statements as a last ditch effort to woo voters on Monday’s elections if not rigged on a large scale, the PPP is expected to sweep them.

Meanwhile Pakistan’s People Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari will meet Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Chief Nawaz Sharif in Lahore on Saturday.

They will discuss the possibility of forming a unity government after the elections and both go into that meeting speaking the same language.

On Friday, as his popularity ratings plummeted three days ahead of the general election, Hussain was however, careful not to criticise Pervez Musharraf directly while he was being interviewed.
