BANGALORE: Very soon the industries in the state will have sector-wise plans to check pollution as the Karnataka Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) has constituted a new committee under the chairmanship of former vice-chancellor of the University of Agricultural Sciences M Mahadevaiah to conduct research to suggest means to regulate pollution in each sector.Besides conducting research into the different causes of pollution, the committee will also publish the means suggested by it to prevent pollution.KSPCB Chairman A S Sadashivaiah said, “As it is difficult to check pollution through conventional methods, we have to have industry specific plans and this committee will go a long way in helping us to prepare such plans. It is very difficult to monitor and check pollution in the city and other urban areas. Therefore, we are also planning to set up one more committee consisting of officials from the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) and some important NGOs that are actively working for improving the ecology to help us in our efforts to check pollution.”
