Monza: Both the Sahara Force India drivers, Nico Hulkenberg and Paul di Resta, on Friday managed to get top-10 finishes in the practice ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, here on Sunday.

Hulkenberg, coming into the race after his career-best show at Belgium, clocked eighth fastest time in FP2, while Di Resta was seventh.

Di Resta did not take part in FP1 but clocked his best lap in 1:25.546 in FP2 to be seventh fastest.

Hulkenberg was 12th in the list in FP1 as he clocked 1:26.518. He was marginally slower in FP2 in which he managed a timing of 1:25.547, but that was good enough to be eighth fastest.

"Overall we look in reasonable shape, although I'm not totally happy with the set-up. We learned a lot about the tyres and both the hard and medium are working well here. The other big decision to make tonight is what downforce levels we will use over the weekend," Hulkenberg said.

Di Resta said, "The preparation we had done in the simulator was useful and the baseline set-up was not very far away from where we needed to be. We improved the car with each run so there's plenty of data to go through tonight to improve our performance before qualifying."

Reserve driver Jules Bianchi managed P16 in FP1 with a timing of 1:27.192.
