Chennai: A pistol was recovered from former Civil Aviation minister C M Ibrahim before he boarded a flight to Bangalore from Chennai on Tuesday evening.
He had the requisite licence but had not mentioned anywhere that he was carrying a fully loaded pistol.
Ibrahim had come to the airport to board a Kingfisher Airlines flight scheduled to leave at 2145 hrs IST on Monday night.
The former minister was allowed to proceed on his journey although the pistol was seized.
Ibrahim has been asked to produce the licence for the weapon before he can reclaim it.
C M Ibrahim had been the Civil Aviation Minister in the Deve Gowda ministry.
