KOZHIKODE/KANNUR: The political violence in Kannur district seems to continue with two private buses and a KSRTC bus being  attacked in Taliparamba. Police said  the attack on the KSRTC bus at Pushpagiri near Taliparamba left driver Lijo Thomas injured. He was admitted to the Pariyaram MCH. In another incident at Naduvil, three persons including CPM local secretary sustained injuries. The incident occurred around 9 pm.   Five CPM activists were also injured in an attack at Thalassery around 11 pm. Police said that this incident was related to a temple festival and is not connected with the CPM-IUML confrontation.  The murder of a Muslim Youth League worker and a series of stabbing incidents and attacks on houses and shops  had caused much scare among the people. The police pickets set up at sensitive areas functioned on Wednesday also.    The condition of a CPM worker who sustained stab injuries in the clashes continued to be serious. The sensitive areas in the district where violence spread following the murder of the Muslim League worker and the attack on CPM district leaders, remained calm on Wednesday.   Meanwhile, the police filed cases against nearly 500 identifiable persons in connection with the violent incidents. The Kannapuam police filed cases against nine CPM workers in connection with the murder of Muslim League worker Shukkoor. All-party Peace Meet HeldAn all-party peace conference convened by the district authorities was held at the Collectorate conference hall Kannur on Wednesday. The conference appealed to the people to assist the district administration and the police to restore peace in the violence-hit areas of the district.Legislators K M Shaji, T V Rajesh and James Mathew, CPM district secretary P Jayarajan, M V Jayarajan, K P Sahadevan, Muslim League district president V K Abdulkhader Moulavi, Additional District Magistrate M T Mathew and District Superintendent of Police Rahul R Nair attended the meeting.
