PARADIP: The four pre-fabricated containers, which were detained by Gadakujang villagers, were released on Friday following police intervention.Kujang police swung into action after senior Posco officials, who visited the site on Thursday to hold talks with the villagers, filed a complaint in the police station. The containers were released amidst tight security in the presence of district officials, said SP S Devdatta Singh.The leaders of Kunja Bihari Gramya Surakhya Committee, Amrit Das and Charana Parida said they have reached an agreement with the officials of Posco Engineering and Construction Co Ltd that no work should be initiated unless their demands are fulfilled.MAHA SAMABESH HELD: As scheduled, the six political parties -- Congress, CPI, CPM, Forward Bloc, Rashtriya Janata Dal and Samajwadi Party -- on Friday organised a Maha Samabesh at Bosecallis point in Dhinkia opposing construction of coastal road and land acquisition for the Posco project by using force.Addressing the gathering, the leaders demanded immediate release of PPSS leader Abhay Sahu on unconditional bail.Meanwhile, a core committee has been formed at the village-level to draw strategies to release Sahu on unconditional bail.
