New Delhi: Intelligence agencies have asked Delhi Police and Rajasthan Police to be on alert for a possible terror strike by the Islamic State. Central agencies have told the police forces that a possible strike by Islamic State is imminent.
According to sources, the attack could be a lone wolf type or could be carried out by a module of two or three.
The terror outfit has used social media to radicalised youth. About 40 youngsters have been tapped by them in recent months.
Apart from Delhi and Rajasthan, Mumbai has also been put on high alert following bomb threat at Hotel Taj and airport. The police deployment has been increased after the airport manager at the international airport received an anonymous call on the bomb threat.
The caller claimed that he had overheard someone saying that they were planning to place explosives outside Hotel Taj and airport terminals of both international and domestic flights.
Bomb threat assessment committee of Mumbai airport has termed the call as 'specific threat'. There has been no confirmation whether flights' schedule has been changed. The call was received was on Monday night.
The alert comes just before the festival season begins in India.
