Purchase and Sale of Land in These 8 Villages of Ghaziabad to be Banned
It has often been observed that outsiders purchase large amounts of land marked for newly announced projects, intending to resell it at significantly higher prices for profit. As a result, the farmers, who are the rightful owners of that land, suffer long-term losses

With the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) commencing land acquisition for the Harnandipuram Township, the purchase and sale of land will soon be banned in eight villages from which a total of 541.1 hectares of land is to be acquired.

It has often been observed that outsiders purchase large amounts of land marked for newly announced projects, intending to resell it at significantly higher prices for profit. As a result, the farmers, who are the rightful owners of that land, suffer long-term losses.

To prevent this and protect farmers from such losses, the GDA will implement Section 11 of the Land Acquisition Act, 2013 in theese eight villages — Nagla Firoz Mohanpur, Morta, Bhaupur, Ataur, Champat Nagar, Shamsher, Bhaida Khurd, Mathurapur and Shahpur Morta — effectively banning the purchase and sale of land in these villages.

Township Map Approved In August

According to a report by the Times of India, the GDA board approved the map of this township near the Hindon River in August. The authority has already commenced surveying the land required for the township. GDA Secretary Rajesh Singh stated, “Outsiders buy large amounts of land marked for a newly announced project to make profits later. This causes loss to the farmers who sell their land, and to stop this illegal activity, Section 11 will soon be implemented in eight villages.”

Notification to be issued Within a Month

Rajesh Singh indicated that the notification will be issued within a month. The GDA is monitoring the purchase and sale of land in the area designated for the township. While farmers will be allowed to transact land among themselves, transactions with outsiders will be discouraged until the notification is implemented.

Land Acquisition Breakdown By Village

According to the proposed plan, the maximum of 247.8 hectares of land will be acquired from Nangla Ferozepur, followed by 123.97 hectares from Shamsher. Additionally, 11.8 hectares will be acquired from Bhaida Khurd, 8.7 hectares from Mathurapur, 39.2 hectares from Champat Nagar, 54.2 hectares from Shahpur Morta, 2.6 hectares from Bhaupur and Morti.
