Raghu cremated; issues yet to subside

PALAKKAD: The body of Raghu, who was beaten to death at the Perumabvoor bus stand, was cremated at Thottarakad on Wednesday around 4.15 pm amidst a pall of gloom as hundreds of people gathered at the Thankayam house in Peruvembu to bid a tearful adieu.The police have remanded in custody the gunman of K Sudhakaran MP, Satheeshan, 36, of Neyyatinkara, and Santhosh, 28, of Muvattupuzha, who was a co-passenger who reportedly beat Raghu both within and outside the bus. The body was cremated after the arrival of his wife Kasturi and his two sons, Aravind, 7, and Anjali, 5, from Gujarat.Raghu’s brother Ravi was also present. Raghu’s mother Sarojini and his wife seemed to be inconsolable. Among the leaders who visited Peruvembu and consoled the family members were MPs P K Biju and M B Rajesh, district panchayat president T N Kandamuthan and CPM district secretary P Unni.
