Rajasthan Textbook Says 'Beautiful Complexion' Must to Excel in Business
Move over fairness cream and matrimonial advertisements. The latest to come out with “beauty standards” for women is the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education.

Jaipur: Move over celebrities endorsing fairness products and matrimonial advertisement templates with over the top fairness-height-complexion fixation, Rajasthan government schools are now teaching high school students ‘beautiful complexion’ and ‘good height’ among the attributes it takes to be an entrepreneur.

In a reminder of the recent row over a textbook which listed out the precise statistics of the best female shape as 36-24-36 and went on to add ‘V-shape’, as the best shape for men, the government school text books in Rajasthan seem to be taking forward the bizarre emphasis on “physical attributes”.

The new textbooks, titled Samajopayogi Yojanayein, also list out the flagship schemes of BJP governments at central and state levels.

While the first two are flagship schemes of the Modi government, the latter were launched by the state’s Vasundhara Raje-led government.

In a similar controversy recently, a physical education textbook for Class 12 students defined ‘36-24-36’ as the "best body shape for females". An FIR was eventually filed against the author and publisher.
