BANGALORE: The Reserve Bank of India will shortly put into circulation coins of `5 denomination, which shall conform to the following dimension and design. The coin shall be circular, with 23 millimeters, 100 serrations and made of 75 per cent copper, 20 per cent zinc and 5 per cent nickel. The face of the coin shall bear the lion capital from the Ashoka Pillar with the legend Satyameva Jayate inscribed below. The lion will be flanked on the left periphery with the word ‘Bharat’ in Hindi and on the right upper periphery flanked with the word ‘India’ in English. It shall also bear the denominational value 5 in international numerals below the lion and will be flanked on the lower left periphery with the word ‘Rupaiya’ in Hindi and right lower periphery with the word ‘Rupees’ in English.
