Record hydel generation in state

HYDERABAD: Setting a record of sorts, the hydel power generation has reached 64.99 million units in the state on Friday following huge inflows into all the reservoirs.The APGenco has generated 139.3 MU including hydel and thermal power registering an increase by 22.4 MU of the power generation compared to last year.The peak hydel generation was 2,784 MW whereas that of thermal generation was 3,415 MW.According to a release, the Srisailam Left Bank and Right Bank projects have generated a total of 33.88 MU closely followed by Nagarjuna Sagar project with 22.13 MU.The Jurala power house has generated 1.5 MU, while power plants in the Sileru basin produced 5.47 MU.In addition, other power plants located at Nizamsagar, Sriram Sagar, Singur and other mini hydel projects have generated 1.99 MU.
