THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Revenue District work experience fest for school students in Science, Mathematics, Social Sciences and IT will be held in St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Pattom here from December 1 to 3. Addressing media persons here on Monday Mayor K Chandrika said that around 7,500 students will participate in the event. Transport and Devaswom Minister V S Sivakumar will inaugurate the fest. District Panchayat president Ramani P Nair will preside over the function. A science drama competition will be held on the inaugural day. Around 150 stalls will be set up at the exhibition. The participants in the fest are the winners in the twelve sub-district work experience fests. The exhibition will be open to the public on December 3. The winners in the Revenue District fest can participate in the state-level fest.Competitions will be held in 15 categories in the science fest and 12 in the mathematics fest. In social sciences there will be 20 categories in UP/LP section and 25 categories in HS/HSS. The IT fest will be held on December 1 and 2 and the mathematics fest on December 2 and 3. The valedictory function on December 3 will be inaugurated by Shashi Tharoor MP at 5 pm. K Muraleedharan MLA, will deliver the keynote address and distribute awards to the winners. Education deputy director V L Viswalatha, media convener Binny P Joseph and reception committee convener N Ratnakumar attended the news conference.
