New Delhi: Environmentalist RK Pachauri, who has been an accused in a sexual harassment case, has been removed as the head of The Energy and Resources Institute

It comes after a recent court order allowed Pachauri to resume his work at TERI.

Pachauri is accused of sexual harassing an employee who worked under him. The complainant has said that Pachauri has been harassing her since 2003.

In May, the Delhi Police found Pachauri guilty of sexual harassment.

Dr Ajay Mathur has been appointed at TERI chief. He is currently the Director General of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).

On Pachauri's removal, the complainant said, "It's being more than five months. This should have happened earlier. It's being extremely difficult. My days were spent in the court. I was being exhausted and I am unable to return to work for five months. I do fear for my career."

Former Additional Solicitor General Indira Jaising said, "This was the limit that the replacement was not found from such a long time. It's an uncomplete battle and when will the ministry will remove him as chancellor of TERI university."
