BANGALORE: Bringing dealers and manufacturers of vending machines and kiosks under one roof, the Institution of Engineers is hosting the ‘Self Service Expo 2011’. Highlighting the variety of products available in the market for vending machines in India, the three-day expo will help the vending machine and kiosk industry reach out to customers. “Platforms like these will help in increasing this industry’s market share,” said George Johnson from Infinite Expositions, the organiser of the exhibition. The stalls exhibit a host of products from snack vending machines to coin exchange machines. “We have showcased a sanitary napkin vending machine called ‘Reprivend’ among many other products and this is a good platform to explain the usefulness of these machines,” said Gita Ramachandra from Glo Life Care.Commenting on the business opportunities for such products, participants said they were contemplating installations of such machines at public places like bus stands and railway stations. “A coin vending machine, ‘Coin Exchange’, can be used in Metro stations. Presently talks with BMRCL are underway,” Abhijeet, Informations and Telecom.
