New Delhi: World Number 2 Serena Williams is through to the third round after scoring a victory over Gisela Dulko in Round 2 of the Australian Open.
The American took a little over an hour-and-a-half to dispose off her opponent in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4.
She punctuated the match with eight aces.
Williams saw off China's Yuan Meng in straight sets in the previous round and while she again took just two sets to see off her opponent at the Hisense Arena on Thursday, she was made to work much harder.
Serena is a three-time champion at Melbourne Park.
Meanwhile, Elena Dementieva stretched her winning run to 12 matches as she progressed with a 6-4 6-1 success against Iveta Benesova.
Her opponent in the next round will be Australian Samantha Stosur, who beat Sabine Lisicki 6-3 6-4.
