HYDERABAD: The written examination for recruitment of police sub-inspectors was held amidst a peaceful atmosphere on the second day on Sunday across the state.Officials said that 4,453 candidates attended the examination while 321 remained absent at the BHEL centre in the city. In Karimnagar, 3,662 out of 3,911 took the test.The written examination was held for two days at the BHEL and in Karimnagar town in the sixth zone limits amid massive security in view of threats by pro-Telangana groups to disrupt it. Over 4,000 police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed at the BHEL township near Hyderabad , where the test was conducted in six centres. Tight security has also been arranged at Karimnagar.The examination was conducted at Visakhapatnam, Eluru, Guntur and Kurnool for filling of the sub-inspector’s posts in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions.AP Police Recruitment Board chairman M Malakondaiah said that around 18,000 candidates took the test for 1,293 posts.
