Kurukshetra: A Sikh school boy on Saturday alleged that his hair was forcibly cut by some unidentified youths.

Jagbir Singh, a student of Gita Niketan School, alleged that the incident occurred on August 12 when he was on his way to a bookshop.

The boy said he was offered help by the youths who then drugged him, cut his hair, bundled him into a car and took him to an unidentified place from where he somehow managed to escape.

Gurpratap Singh, Jagbir's father, alleged that the police registered the case after mounting pressure by the Sikh community.

Both Shiromani Akali Dal and SGPC have taken up cudgels against the incident and held demonstations in Chandigarh, Dabwali and Sirsa demanding arrest of those involved in the incident.

SGPC senior Vice President R S Virk met the parents of the boy and the Kurukshetra police chief and demanded action in the case.

The complaint follows the August 22 incident in Jaipur where a Sikh teenager Inderpreet Singh's hair was cut by some persons sparking widespread protests by the community and its condemnation at the national level.
