PARAVOOR: A culture of love should be cultivated for the welfare of society, said Kannur Bishop Dr Varghese Chakkalackal at Kottapuram near here on Sunday. He was delivering homily during inaugural ceremony of the year-long silver jubilee celebrations of Kottapuram Diocese.  A global culture of love should be developed to eliminate terrorism, poverty and other vices, the Bishop added.  Each one should become a bomb of love, he said. Tens of thousand of faithful, hundreds of priests and nuns and prominent social, cultural and literaray figures attended the function. Kottapuram Bishop Dr Joseph Karikkassery  inaugrated the silver jubilee celebrations  by signing the Jubilee document.   The procession carrying lighted torch, Holy Bible and blessed flag, brought from different centres by Jojo Manackil,  Anson Joseph and P J Thomas were handed over to Fr Francisco Padamadan, Fr Dominic Chirayath and Fr George Padassery which was accorded to a rousing reception at the entrance of the cathedral. Varapuzha Archbishop Dr Francis Kallarackal was the chief celebrant of the pontifical concelebrated solemn mass to mark the official beginning of the celebration. Bishop Varghese Chakkalackal released the logo of the celebration.   The action plan of the celebration was handed over to Raphael Antony by vicar-general  Dominic Pinheiro. The jubilee prayer was released by Chancellor Fr Nixon Kattassery. Foundation stone was laid for a housing project. OSJ Congregation Provincial Fr John Attully, Varapuzha Arch diocese chancellor Fr Varghese Valiyaparambil, Bobby Antony and Chendamangalam Panchayat presidsent Alphonsa Francis spoke on the occasion.
