Skill lab at JIPMER shortly

PUDUCHERRY: JIPMER is establishing a skill development laboratory, said dean Dr K S Reddy on Saturday.Equipment and mannequins have been purchased for the purpose,and it was to get inaugurated by April-May 2013, he said at the CME session. The laboratory would enhance the scope of practising and help hone the skills of surgeons, he said.‘Guidelines in minimal access surgery needed’Founder president of the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India, Dr C Palanivelu on Saturday stressed the need for proper guidelines in Minimal Access Surgery.He called upon JIPMER to frame a curriculum which would serve as a standardised guideline for proper training.
