Follow us:WhatsappFacebookTwitterTelegram.cls-1{fill:#4d4d4d;}.cls-2{fill:#fff;}Google NewsThe state Cabinet, which met on Friday, has cleared a proposal to enhance the salaries and wages of all employees of the state road transport corporations by 10 per cent with effect from January 1 this year.Primary and Secondary Education Minister Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri told reporters that the Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, decided to approve the long-pending demand of hiking the salaries and wages of employees of all state-owned transport corporations, including BMTC, KSRTC and MWKRTC.“Basic salaries would be hiked by 10 per cent and other allowances would be hiked by 30 per cent,” Kageri said.The state Cabinet also decided to increase the upper limit of loan availed from nationalised banks and regional rural banks from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh at a three per cent interest rate. The agriculture department has decided to establish 500 Farm Equipment Service Centres across the state.Through these centres, farmers get on rent farm equipment including tractors, power tillers, harvesting machines and other tools.The state government also approved Rs 940 crore for the 45.6 kms canal, including 2.805 kms-long Hulikeri tunnel of Vishveshwaraiah Canal and increase its water carrying capacity.“In the current year, the state government would release about Rs 330 crore for the project,” he said.The Cabinet also decided to refer the KIADB’s Bidadi Industrial Estate land levelling scam of Rs 17.50 crore in 2001-2002 to the CID. The Cabinet also approved the Rs 900 crore Rashtriya Madhyamika Shikshana Yojane (RMSY), which is supported by the Central government.“The Cabinet has also decided to bring all those works which costs over Rs 5 lakh under Karnataka Transparency Act,” said Kageri.The Cabinet has given approval to purchase 500 MW of power from Gujarat Urjwa Vikas Nigam at a cost of Rs 4.70 per unit, including 60 paisa of the transport cost.
