THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Laws should change in accordance with the needs of the times, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said on Friday. He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the headquarters of the Centre for Advanced Legal Studies and Research (CALSAR) on the Law Academy campus here.Rigid laws will create problems for the people, Chandy said. He also lauded the contributions made by the Law Academy in the field of legal studies.The Law Reforms Committee has recommended amendments to 23 Acts and the amendments will be effected soon, Law Minister K M Mani, who presided over the function, said.Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb delivered the keynote address, Transport Minister V S Sivakumar, Mayor K Chandrika, Cochin National University of Advanced Legal Studies Vice-Chancellor Dr N  K Jayakumar, Kerala Law Academy Joint Secretary Adv Nagaraj also spoke.
