Trailer of Karan Johar's latest directorial venture 'Student Of The Year' is out. And it seems like a glamorous version of Aamir's film on college life.
The promo features Siddharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan fighting for 'Student Of The Year' title. Aamir and his gang belonged to middle class families in 'Jo Jeeta'. Known for his larger than life sets, Karan Johar preferred to be different here. The film has been shot in Dehradun, Shimla, Kashmir, and Thailand. Don't miss out the extremely affluent parties and bikini scene. Karan Johar's students of the Saint Teresa School seem extremely ahead of their time.
From family entertainers to thrillers, Karan Johar is busy trying his hands on various genres these days. Let's wait and watch how he scores with this youth film. SOTY boasts of a unique starcast too. Mahesh Bhatt's daughter Alia, David Dhawan's son Varun and filmmaker Punit Malhotra's brother Siddharth make their debut with the film. Though Varun and Siddharth look more of bouncers than students, but you never know Johar's magic may really work for the film and the stars as well.
At the first look launch of the film, Karan Johar behaved more like an emotional father. He said, "The film feels different from any other film that I have directed as I have worked with movie stars who don't need hand-holding. With these three newcomers, it was a journey like nurturing and parenting them."
