The mass contact programme will be organised on the lines of Mee Kosam Yatra taken by the TDP chief before the 2009 elections. As part of the first phase of the programme, he will tour Telangana region from October to February.The Yatra will be given a break in February, 2013 to allow party MPs and MLA to attend Parliament and Assembly sessions.TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu will start the programme from Parkal assembly constituency in Warangal district as the party achieved a respective position here in the recently held byelections. The programme will be aimed to expose failures of the central and state governments.TDP leadership exuded confidence that the programme would prepare its party cadre for the 2014 elections.“The mood in the party is pro-Telangana and we are unanimous on the demand of a separate Telangana state,” a senior TDP leader said, adding that Andhra region MLAs like Kovvur MLA TV Ramarao of East Godavari district also supported Telangana demand.“TDP does not take decisions merely to convince others. We would declare our stand as a responsible opposition party,” said TDP MP Devendar Goud. Meanwhile,TDP chief has decided to visit New Delhi from September 5 to 6.He will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and urge him to create a separate ministry for the Backward Classes (BCs).He is also expected to meet political leaders from the left party and Samajwadi party to mobilise support on BCs demand.
