ADILABAD: Government teachers and Singareni coal miners are facing the heat from people at several places in the state for withdrawing from the Samme. Over the past a few days several instances of popular ire directed at the strikers have taken place. In Adilabad district, irked by the decision of teachers to call off their strike after nearly a month, the villagers of Soan in Nirmal mandal, Vagapur in Adilabad mandal and Bopparam in Laxmanchanda mandal locked up schools and drove teachers away.In one Lambada thanda in Kasipet mandal, villagers locked up 13 teachers in the office room on Friday. Two teachers were similarly detained in the school at Umbdam in Talmadugu mandal. Teachers were presented flowers and bangles as a form of ridicule.In mining townships in Telangana, miners are being barracked by farmers who are angry. “Though we faced severe power cuts, we supported the Samme, hoping for a Telangana state,' said farmer J P Reddy.
