We throw the wasted vegetables and fruits in the garbage. We throw them out when we realise that they smell bad and are likely to be infested with flies and mosquitoes. Do you know a group of students thought of making oil from these wasted vegetables and fruits and reusing it? According to reports, these students are from Palamuru University in Telangana. Students of these universities are good at experimenting. This new experiment came from their minds. PhD students thought of making oil from wasted vegetables. According to reports, Amity University, Noida, has also participated in this program. Palamuru and Noida University have jointly decided to experiment with making oil from wasted vegetables and fruits. Dr Madhusudan Reddy, Head of Department of Microbiology of Palamuru University, and Dr Dibarati Paul, professors of Amity University, have initiated this project.

The board also showed interest in this project and gave permission in 2023. Funds are also sanctioned for conducting research. With this, the PhD students continue their experiment successfully.

We have often heard how oils are adulterated in the market. People’s health gets affected due to this. Keeping this thing in mind, these students started a new project with the aim of providing good-quality oil at a low price.

Farmers tend to waste vegetables when the crop is in high yield. These students started experimenting in Noida by collecting vegetables lying waste in the markets of Mahbubnagar (Telangana) and Delhi.

These students are experimenting with the process of making oil after eliminating the bacteria present in the skin of fruits. In the next three years, the whole process is said to be completed, and the project of extracting oil from waste vegetables will be finished hopefully.
