BANGALORE: As part of Road Safety Week celebrations, activists, in association with the traffic police, stopped commuters on Outer Ring Road on Tuesday and educated them on different aspects of road safety. About 65 employees of ISS Integrated Facility Services organised the campaign on the road between Marathahalli and Mahadevapura in K R Puram.As part of the initiative, they stopped the commuters who violated the traffic rules. Also, tips on importance of seat belts and reflective strips on the helmet and traffic rules against the use of mobiles while driving were given to them. “The team donated seat belts to those who complained of old and unclean seat belts and thus ensured car drivers used seat belts,” said Prabhakar Shetty, coordinator of the campaign.Roses were given to people who followed traffic rules and safety procedures along with leaflets.The drive included auto rickshaws, Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) Volvo buses, cabs, cars and two wheelers and is part of a nationwide campaign by ISS in major cities like Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. More than 600 employees of ISS took part in this initiative.
