New Delhi: World No. 1 Tiger Woods has won the USPGA championship at Oklahoma for his 13th Major and now just five title short of Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 Major titles. The championship is Wood's first Major title this season and won the championship with a two-shot lead over Woody Austin.

The defending champion shot a one-under-par 69 to finish eight-under in the tournament.

Woods began the day with a three-shot advantage but the day saw South African Ernie Els and Woody Austin challenge his lead. Austin finished second while Els came third.

It was also his first Major as a father, walking into the scoring room with wife Elin holding their two-month-old daughter, Sam Alexis.

"That's a feeling I've never experienced before. "To have her here, it brings chills to me. I was surprised she was out here, to see her and Elin there. It's just so cool," Woods said.

Woods now has more Majors than the rest of the top 10 in the world combined. At age 31, he is well ahead of the pace Nicklaus set when he won his record 18 professional Majors. Nicklaus was 35 when he won his 13th.

Austin, a 43-year-old former bank teller playing in only his 15th Major, earned plenty of crowd support as the working class hero for coming second.
