CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu contingent of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) has done the state proud by sweeping all the group titles at the recently concluded All India Vayu Sainik Camp (AIVSC) held at Bengaluru from October 30 to November 10. The event, conducted for Air Force cadets from all over the country, saw the participation of around 700 cadets.The contingent from TN consisted of 46 cadets, 13 of whom were girls. They were placed first in the following categories - Drill, Line Area and Tent Pitching, Technical Air Squadron and Aero-modelling Line Control. Individually, cadets won bronze medals in the Aero-modelling Static Model, Flying and Health and Hygiene and silver in the Firing Skeet.S Murali, Group Captain, Group Commander NCC group B, speaking to City Express said, "Nearly 80% of the total group which went to the camp won a medal. They have done much better than the contingents from other states, and were appreciated by all."A prize distribution ceremony was held on Friday to felicitate those who had attended the camp.
