Arumugam, arrested in June for alleged conspiracy behind

attack on residents of Angammal Colony here, was today granted

bail by a court here. Judicial First Class Magistrate S Lakshmi granted bail to

Arumugam when his plea came up for hearing. This was the fifth

bail application filed by Arumugam, the DMK's strongman in

Salem district. However, Arumugam would have to wait for the order of the

Madras High Court on his plea challenging his detention under
