After the runaway success of ‘Traffic’, director Rajesh Pillai is coming up with another road movie. The movie titled ‘Motorcycle Diaries’ tells the story of an enfield bullet. Kunchakko Boban and Nivin Pauly are the lead actors of the movie.
“Since ‘Traffic’ garnered much appreciation, I wanted to execute a much better movie, with a novel theme. I have been listening to more than 100 stories since the past few months. Then debutant writer Deepu Mathew approached me with the story,” says Rajesh Pillai.
The director adds, “’Motorcycle Diaries’ is a travel film that tracks the lifespan of the motorcycle since 1975. It is the central character in the film which depicts the stories of different generations.”
‘Ordinary’ fame director Sugeeth and Satheesh have produced the film under the banner of ‘Ordinary Films’. Screenplay and direction are by Rajesh Pillai. Music will be scored by Prasanth Pillai, who has earlier worked in movies like ‘Saithan’ and ‘City of God’. Editor Mahesh Narayan joins hands with Rajesh Pillai once again after the success of ‘Traffic’ in different languages. The shooting of the film will begin from November. Major locales are Kerala and Goa.
There has been buzz that Pillai has simultaneously also been working on two other projects, ‘Gold’ - the movie about the struggles of female athletes and ‘Lucifer’ that will see Mohanlal in the lead character. But the director clarifies that he would begin the shooting of both the movies only after completing ‘Motorcycle Diaries’.
