Music has the power to transcend barriers and bind people together. Taking this concept forward for the second time, after its much appreciated response in Mumbai, Indigo Live brings to you the Uninor Cry Freedom Concert — a concert that will resonate with music lovers all over again. The concert is being organised in partnership with Uninor. With an exceptional ensemble of artists from diverse genres, music enthusiasts will experience the best of performances by hugely talented and distinctive Indian musicians on Saturday, November 26 at CounterCulture. This ten hour unbridled live concert promises to enthrall the audience with the impressive lineup of stellar performances; all bundled into a one spectacular musical treat.Living up to the slogan ‘Music for a revolution’, Uninor Cry Freedom Concert is a celebration of the expression of freedom through live music and arts. In this day and age freedom no longer means independence from a colonial power. Freedom to the youth of today has different connotations and means different things to different people: freedom from corruption, freedom to choose a career, freedom to live the way one wants to, freedom to earn, freedom to enjoy music, films, dance and other arts without too much censorship, or something as simple as the freedom to go out and party without too many restrictions. At the Uninor Cry Freedom concert, 11 bands from different parts of the country will come together to celebrate freedom with 10 hours of unrestricted live music. This is a platform for Bangaloreans to get together and celebrate freedom at Counter Culture on November 26. The concert will be webcast live and the webcast link for online viewing will be available on www.facebook.com/LiveIndigo and on www.facebook.com/groups/Indigo919/.Speaking about Cry Freedom, Shom Jagtiani, director and COO, Indigo Live Pvt Ltd said, “Cry Freedom was received very warmly in Mumbai and now we truly hope to exceed the expectations in Bengaluru. We at Indigo Live believe that India today is a relatively free and open society but what we need to do is make more efforts to uphold and amplify these qualities. We need to reach out to issues from a profound understanding of the deeply interconnected nature of today’s world. As we know, music has always had the power to draw and unite people together. Hence, keeping this in mind, we have built a property that everyone can relate to and celebrate the freedom from various struggles in life, with live music.”‘As a young telecom player Uninor is delighted to associate with the Cry Freedom concert that reaches out and connects with our audience in Bangalore,” said Yasir Azman, circle business head, Uninor Karnataka. The bands/artistes lineup includes the ever so talented harmonica maestro Brendan Powers, who is undoubtedly one of the most accomplished players on both diatonic and chromatic. Brendan’s eclectic skills and sensitive ear even got him a live recording with non other than Sting. Indus Creed, Avial, Blackstratblues, Salil Bhatt, Bicycle Days, Inner Sanctum, Verses, The Indian Flamenco Project and Agam are amongst others performing that day.
