New Delhi: In a bizarre incident, a television serial actress was allegedly assaulted by the wife of a Mumbai police constable on Tuesday over a domestic squabble.
Roma Dey, a resident of suburban Dandoshi, was beaten up for allegedly abusing the 18-year-old son of Sangle, the wife of a constable in the crime branch.
Both families live in buildings opposite to each other and Dey’s husband works in a media company. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone XII) Shivaji Bodke, he used his office to run a campaign against Sangle.
"Dey further alleged that the assaulting had resulted in miscarriage for his wife who was expecting a child. After conducting medical tests, we established that Mrs Dey was not pregnant," Bodke was quoted as saying by agencies.
Bodke added that the police would take action against the Dey couple if someone came forward with a complaint to that effect.
