Police said they were into collecting money from the firm’s customers and depositing the cash in the firm.On Monday, they collected Rs 14 lakh from customers in  Old Airport Road, Rajajinagar and Ramamurthynagar. Instead of depositing it, they decided to keep it with them and cooked up a robbery story.“Accordingly, Sriramaiah went to Srirampura where he was residing and handed over cash to a  neighbour. He had told the neighbour that he would collect the money later. Then, he cut his shirt’s sleeve  with  a razor. Later, the duo came near Asai Road, where he threw chilli powder into Alex’s face and put some into his eyes. Then they called Pulikeshinagar police and informed that they were robbed of cash by some men,” the police explained.“ASI Venkatesh was sent to the spot  and the accused narrated the incident to him. They were brought to the station, where the inspector questioned them.
